My Two Cents on Black Friday

Did you do your part to help stimulate the economy today by spending your hard earned cash on all the "great sales" that took place today? Were you up early to beat the crowds? Did you review the store ads to research exactly what you wanted? Did you make sure the car was working or carpool with some friends to get to the store? Did you dress appropriately to do battle with the hundreds of other shoppers? Did you devise a strategy in advance to determine what your priority purchases would be?

If you answered yes to most those questions, then let me ask you one more: Would your employer agree that you are applying the same energy and planning towards advancing your career? What an amazing employee you'd be, if you were as excited about making money, as you are about spending it! What employer wouldn't be happy about someone that showed up to work early and was willing to wait for the doors to open? And if you did a little research about how to best accomplish the tasks that you've been assigned at work, you'd probably be "Employee of the Month." I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Let's begin to apply the same strategies that we use to be successful off the clock, while we're on the clock. Well that's my two cents, you can keep the change!

Until next time... we'll see you where the jobs are!
