There Really Are Job Opportunities in WNY

We seem to hear bad news everyday about the economy and the mounting layoffs that occur as a result of these tough financial times. But, there is a glimmer of hope emanating from right here in Buffalo. Today about 40 employers participated in the WNY Career fair for Advanced Manufacturing and Life Sciences held at the Buffalo Employment & Training Center, located at 77 Goodell St. in downtown Buffalo. Here's a partial listing of some of the companies that were on hand for the event: Moog, Inc., Ethox, Invitrogen,United BioChemicals, NYS Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and there were several training agencies available to assist perspective employees with boosting their skill sets to qualify for some of the positions being offered.

Despite the challenges you may be facing as a jobseeker, please know that there are opportunities available for you in Western New York. I often hear folks say that there "aren't any jobs in this city." But I want to let you know, that yes there are jobs, right here in Buffalo. The city of Buffalo is working tirelessly to get the information about job opportunities in our area out to residents like you, who are in need of jobs. As you already know looking for a job, is a job in itself!
